Latisse® (Bimatoprost ophthalmic solution 0.03%) is a prescription solution used in the treatment of hypotrichosis which is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes. Individual results may vary in patients using Latisse®.
It is possible to see a difference in eyelash length, thickness, fullness, pigmentation (darkness), and number of eyelash hairs. At week four of daily use you may start to see longer lashes. At week 8 of daily use you may start to see fuller and darker lashes. At week 16 of daily use you should see full and dramatic results. Results may vary for each eye and will usually go away should this occur once you stop using Latisse®. Once you stop using Latisse®, your eyelashes are expected to return to their original appearance over several weeks or months.
Latisse® may cause increased brown pigmentation of the colored part of the eye which is likely to be permanent. Discuss with your doctor if you have ever been diagnosed with eye pressure abnormalities. Individuals with a history of elevated eye pressure, personal history and/ or family history of glaucoma should speak to their physician before starting Latisse®. Latisse® should be used on the upper eyelid only.
